Convair N73117

This CV-580 aircraft is cn #25, a converted CV-340-31. It was built in October 1952 and delivered to United Airlines. It was acquired by Frontier Airlines in March 1966 and converted to a CV-580 in June 1966. It was sold to Sierra Pacific Airlines in December 1981. In 1981 it was in storage at Pinal Airpark in Marana, Arizona. In March 1986 it was sold to American Eagle. In May 1989 it went to DHL Worldwide Courier in Brussels, Belgium then in July 1995 it went to Swiftair. From October 2004 thru June 2005 it was withdrawn from service. In 2008 it is seen in Cape Town, South Africa in a stored condition.
