This CV-580 aircraft is cn #57, a converted CV-340-31. It was built in February 1953 and delivered to United Airlines in March 1953. It was acquired by Frontier Airlines in December 1962 and converted to a CV-580 in August 1964. It went to Gem State Airlines in May 1970 and then it was sold to ERA Aviation in Anchorage, Alaska in August 1970. In June 2003 its civil registration and it was exported to Canada and acquired by ERA. In January 2004 it went to Con Air Group, Inc. in British Columbia to be used as a fire fighting aircraft. In October 2021 its civil registration was cancelled and its fate unknown.
