This CV-580 aircraft is cn #86, a converted CV-340-41. It was built in June 1953 and delivered to United Airlines that month. It was acquired by Frontier Airlines in May 1961 and converted to a CV-580 in May 1966. For some time it was operated as Frontier Commuter. In June 1989 its civil registration was cancelled and was sold to Kelowna Flightcraft Air Charter, Ltd. in May 1996. In October 2007 it went to Pionair Australia Pty Ltd. That same month it was acquired by Conair Group, Inc. in Abbotsford, British Columbia. In July 2011 it went to Vanguard Investments Pty Ltd in New South Wales, Australia. From July 2011 to March 2012 it was operated by Pionair Australia Pty Ltd. From July 2012 through November 2013 it was owned by Westpac Banking Corp. but continued to be operated by Pionair Australia Pty Ltd. In November 2017 it went to Vanguard Investments Pty Ltd and then in February it went to Royston Stephen Ferris. In June 2020 it went to Historical Aircraft Restoration Society Inc. in Albion Park Rail in New South Wales.
